We are dedicated to promoting inclusion for autistic children and young people by providing targeted advice and specialist training to educational settings, parents and caregivers. We also offer services to a diverse range of organisations in both the public and private sectors to increase autism awareness. Located in Peterborough, we offer both in-person services locally and online services nationally.
My name is Jenny Lowey, and I am the Company Director of IMPACT: Autism Consultancy & Training Ltd. I hold qualifications as a teacher, including a PGCE and a Master's degree in Education with a focus on Autism. My teaching experience spans several specialist schools dedicated to supporting autistic children, and I currently work as a Senior Specialist Teacher for a Local Authority. Please note that due to a potential conflict of interest with my current employment, I will not be able to take on individual casework for parents and schools in Cambridge City and the surrounding areas.
I am deeply committed to promoting educational inclusion and have a strong desire to collaborate with educational settings, parents, and caregivers to empower autistic children and young people to flourish. Additionally, I am particularly interested in addressing the identification of autism in girls, as there exists a gender diagnosis gap that often leads to girls being overlooked or misdiagnosed.
I am also eager to collaborate with a diverse range of organisations across both the public and private sectors to enhance awareness of autism across both children and adult services. Recognising that autistic adults often face increased challenges related to mental health, social isolation, and employment, I aim to partner with organisations to raise awareness and foster supportive environments. Through these collaborations, my goal is to improve outcomes and quality of life for individuals accessing these services.
On a personal note, I wish to share that I am autistic, having received my diagnosis in 2023. I hope to use my personal experiences to assist children, young people and adults who may be navigating the diagnostic journey. Furthermore, I have been a volunteer listener with Samaritans since 2006; a role that has empowered me to empathise and support others.
